Oklahoma Care Plans
The Advantage program provides Medicaid services that allow the client to live comfortably in their own home rather than moving into a nursing home. Advantage assists the elderly and disabled. In order to receive Advantage services, a person must qualify for Medicaid first.
State Plan Personal Care Program
Like the Advantage program, the Oklahoma Personal Care program assists the elderly and disabled. Although, rather than providing services, the Personal Care Program provides funding to the client to hire a personal care assistant. This PCA would help with day to day activities in the client’s home.
In this program, the client has more control over who is hired, whether it may be a home care agency, or a relative. Certain family members are eligible to become a personal care assistant, but spouses and/or legal guardians are excluded due to conflict of interest. A designated representative/spouse cannot provide services to the client.
